FieldNote is our iOS-based field data collection app developed to help you easily analyze data, create and manage work orders, track project progress and costs and more, with unparalleled efficiency. FieldNote is highly configurable and can interface with existing internal applications to address specific challenges.
FieldNote is a fully integrated GIS platform for the non-GIS user. We took all of the complexity out of building a geospatial workflow while still incorporating ESRI’s advanced mapping framework to display the location of each worksite and any other base layer information you may need in the field. You can easily distinguish between different project types and job statuses on the map by changing the icon graphic and color whenever you’d like. For example, if there’s a hazard on a property, you can alert your crews by changing the icon color to red.
With FieldNote’s simple syncing process, users across town or the country can interact and share data as if they were in the same room. The world is your virtual office!
Field crews can store the data they collect in out-of-service areas on their individual devices until they are able to connect to the internet. Once connected, our syncing process communicates with our remote, highly secure server to upload changes made by the field user, and download changes made by other users.
With the push of a button, all data collected is available for all users to see and analyze simultaneously.
For data collection to be fast, it also needs to be simple. That is exactly why FieldNote simplifies data collection by allowing you to determine what your forms look like and include. You don’t have to shoehorn your data to fit into pre-made templates that don’t work with your workflows and confuse your field personnel. Custom NoteBooks can be easily created on the FieldNote website to include forms for your data. For each form, you choose which attributes to include; dropdown menus, default values, and more. With FieldNote, the NoteBooks and forms you use are only limited by your imagination!
FieldNote’s digital timesheet creation process saves your crews countless hours of manual time entry and shipping costs. With FieldNote, Field crews can create time entries that include details about employees, equipment and anything else you would like to track.
Once the time entry has been added, FieldNote automatically creates a timesheet reflecting crew and equipment hours. Crew members no longer need to sit in their trucks at the end of the week manually creating timesheets, or spend time correcting errors. Timesheets are automatically generated in an easily exportable format, and downloaded from the reports page to the FieldNote website.
Consider the FieldNote website the nerve center of your operation. On the FieldNote website, you can create NoteBooks and forms, tailor dropdown menus, set default settings and more. Authorized personnel can also maintain and edit overarching data sets.
The FieldNote website allows you to make intelligent decisions based your data, the flexibility to adjust your system, and the usability that comes with an intuitive interface.
To manage your data effectively, we know it’s necessary to look at it from many different angles. FieldNote’s perspective function grants each user the ability to quickly and easily filter through data to find items that fit their specific needs. Each individual perspective can also be saved and toggled on and off for future use.
Work crews, planning crews, supervisors and other users can generate data queries that will allow them to only see the information that is crucial to their roll, and hide information that gets in the way.
FieldNote has a highly flexible system for linking NoteBooks and forms together, which means you can build your data sets whichever way works best for you without having to manipulate data after the fact – the connections are already made.
FieldNote is flexible enough to accommodate any data chain. The most common data linkage we see is the property-target-inspection chain. This data chain means that each inspection is stacked on top of a target, which is stacked on top of a property. Subsequently, when data regarding an inspection is queried, the property and target are already connected in the database.
FieldNote makes it simple to analyze data and generate reports from the field.
Through the FieldNote website, you can create custom reports and dashboards by selecting the Notebooks and fields you would like to analyze and adding them to a report. Through the dashboard function, which is a visual representation of your data, you can easily interpret data during meetings and presentations.
We protect our customers’ data as if it were our own. We not only follow industry best practices, but we also subscribe to a proactive approach to security by undergoing regular security audits and various penetration testing programs. We strive to ensure that all of your data is safe from the time you input it on the app, through transmission, to when it is stored on our wholly-owned servers.
We know what’s important to one business function may not be relevant to another. That’s why we created the workspace functionality – so different entities or departments can take advantage of FieldNote’s flexibility without being locked into data sets that were created by other users in your organization.
Workspaces allow you to differentiate between projects, teams, or departments – however you need to separate your data. Projects can be separated into different workspaces based on duration, geographic location, budget, manpower or any other metric that is important to your projects.
Assigning work electronically using FieldNote is a seamless process. When work orders are created, they can be assigned to crews and have a variety of attributes and statuses attached to them. These work orders can include various types of equipment, crews, and objectives.
Work orders can be assigned immediately or left in an inventory of jobs to be assigned later. With FieldNote’s unique permissions system, work can be assigned, reassigned, edited and/or deleted only by selected personnel. This flexibility allows you to control changes throughout the work cycle with the confidence that unauthorized parties are not making unwanted changes.
